ProjectD: CatalogTool - Additional Documentation
Good News: We completed the Progressive Sorting routines!
Bad News: We didn't finish them in time to get the documentation into
the manual.
Maintenance Mode: More On Sorting
The Sort Requester allows you to sort the file entries from low to
high on any of the fields, it also supports progressive sorting. There
are six (6) toggle gadgets (one for each field). When you first select
the sort function, all fields are available for sorting. Select a field
to sort then select the SORT gadget, the mouse pointer will change to the
electric D busy symbol until the sort is finished. The sort requester will
then reappear, allowing you to sort again (this time the toggle gadget for
the first field you sorted has been disabled). Subsequent sorts are done
keeping the previous sorts intact (progrssively). Therefore you can sort
a catalog by Disk ID's then sort the catalog by Pathnames and then by
Filenames to have a catalog file with the disk id's grouped together and
each of the filenames sorted alphabetically within their directories.
Good luck and... May the Force be with You...
